Degree Program Update May 5 2016

We recently met with Catonsville Community College regarding are partnership with them. We hope to be up and running by August 2016. Our flight students will be able to earn a two year degree while at WIFA. Flight training will earn college credits. The college will issue F1 visas to the international students enrolled in the program.

Private Pilot Ground School 3 credits
Private Pilot Flight Training 3 credits

Instrument Ground School 4 credits
Instrument Flight Training 3 credits

Commercial Pilot (single & multi combined) Ground School 4 credits
Commercial Pilot (single & multi combined) Flight Training 3 credits

CFI Flight and Ground Training 3 credits

CFII Flight and Ground Training 3 credits

MEI Flight and Ground Training 3 credits

With our association with the Catonsville Community College we will be able to offer six Associate’s degree programs: Air Traffic Control, Aircraft Dispatcher, Flight Operations Management, Professional Pilot Airplane, Professional Pilot Helicopter, and Professional Pilot Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).

Most of the classes will be taught at our school at KGAI. The students will need to take some online courses to make up the additional credit hours required. The student will pay $300 per class credit to the college plus any fee for the online courses.

Below is an example of what the program will be for a Professional Pilot Airplane degree:

Semester 1:

AVMT 141 - Private Pilot Ground School (3) WIFA/Online
AVMT 142 - Private Pilot Certification - Airplane (3) $ 10,200 WIFA
AVMT 241 - Instrument Pilot Ground School (4) WIFA/Online
AVMT 242 - Instrument Pilot Rating - Airplane (3) $ 10,200 WIFA

Semester 2:

MATH 125 - Finite Mathematics & Modeling (3) -- Online/MCC
AVMT 246 - Commercial Pilot Ground School (4) -- WIFA/Online
AVMT 247 - Commercial Pilot Certification - Airplane SE & ME (3) $ 18,200 WIFA
AVMT 261 - Certified Flight Instructor - Airplane (3) $ 5,000 WIFA

Semester 3:
AVMT 101 - Aviation History & Development Online/WIFA
AVMT 263 - Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument Airplane (3) $ 5,000 WIFA
AVMT 265 - Certified Flight Instructor - ME Airplane (3) $ 8,000 WIFA
AVMT 221 - The Air Traffic Control System (3) Online/WIFA

Semester 4:

AVMT 211 - Air Transportation (3) Online/WIFA
AVMT 226 - Air Traffic Control Operations (3) Online/WIFA
AVMT 256 - Airline Management (3) Online/WIFA
ENGL 101 - College Composition I (3) -- Online/MCC

Semester 5:

CSIT 101 - Technology & Information Systems (3) Online/MCC
CMNS 101 - Fundamentals of Communication (3) Online/MCC
ERSC 131 - Meteorology (4) Online/WIFA
SOCL 230 - The Holocaust & Global Racism (or another diversity Gen Ed course) (3) Online/WIFA

*********This will complete their Associate of Applied Science degree at this point

Semester 6: -- Students apply for a work Visa or may take the following courses:
AVMT 193 -- Special Topics in Aviation (6) WIFA
AVMT 173 -- Aviation Internship (6) WIFA
