An amazing opportunity for collectors of special classic cars... a collector car from the pre-owner Evel Knievel, the stunt-legend. In the early 80s Evel Knievels race car has been imported from Florida (USA) to Western Germany, since that time its like fallen of the face of the earth. For more than 30 years it has been included in a premium private collection of special cars. Because of the owners death the collection is now dissolved, some automotive treasures have been rediscovered. Engine identifications: Head-number: 1486250 (Cadillac),
Block-number: 1495200 (Cadillac), Transmission: Hydra-Matic.
The airbrush-paintwork was made in the 70s by Trick Paint Custom Shop (Cayton, 100 miles away from Indianapolis). Evel Knievel had his airbrush added on afterwards in 1978 by S.Wright. The paintwork shows a nice patina, because of the age with some dents and cracks.
Being in the collection since the early 80s, the vehicle has not been on the road again. If a commissioning will be possible has not been checked. The measurements of the vehicle: length: about 3.50 meters (about 138 inch), width: about 2.10 meters (about 83 inch), height: about 1.45 meters (about 57 inch). The vehicle is located in our showroom in Western Germany (postcode 52249).We will assist if help is needed for the shipment. Has electric start and reverse gear with 4 speed transmission. Paint, body and chassis restoration in 1988. Old tires with newer tubes. Original paint and interior color. Original frame, body, lifting section and underbody. No visible rust. All lights and electrics are working. Has scratches, some minor dents. Paint quality is below average, and should be repainted if goal is for a show car. Interior has no rips or tears. Interior paint is correct for year, but is showing wear. The rubber is showing age and needs re-gluing is some areas. The windshield is not cracked, but was hand made and is not perfectly clear , especially on the curved portion. Runs, starts, drives and stops. Engine was rebuilt professionally. New bearings, rings, gaskets, modern Honda CR crank seals were used. Transmission has been reassembled using NOS factory parts including all shafts and gears. Correct air cleaner and petcock. Factory rebuilt Bing carb. Dynastart works. E-brake cable needs replacing. It has a restored, correct Messerschmitt clock. A 1965 Motorola radio was installed. A aftermarket optional altimeter is mounted on the dashboard. There are a couple of small drilled holes in the tops of the left and right fender where the previous restorer/owner mounted incorrect running lights. Horn is correct and functions. Headlights are correct glass type. Enjoy it as is in the current condition, or restore it to any level you prefer. Note: this KR175 has a curved windshield fitted on it which is not an original part, but it is preferred by many as a convertible. The lifting section is not harmed or modified and an original dome can be re-fitted if desired. |

ebay sale June 13 2015. VIN 56260. I have 4 of these cars on ebay. Bought them out of 20+ years of storage. Engine was not in car. exhaust and intake were plugged, was told they were just freshened up. Installed engine, filed points, new battery, it ran in both directions. Carb leaks gas at times, runs good even when it is leaking, but makes me afraid to drive it as long as it takes to raise canopy and engine cover..all cables good and operate except for nutral finder cable is not there.Floors have been repaired but new floor pan is included if you want show quality. new rubber mat, new luggage rack, .Canopy is not cracked, has scratches but I have sanded and buffed out much worse----has a few spots of paint where warehouse where it was stored was painted |

Engine turns with good compression. I have installed engine but never hooked up black box or tried to start it. Rear wheel turns but has tight spots. Car is a 1961 FMR. Top frame, snaps, grommets, rubber seal look like it was a CABRIO to me, But I have new clear Canopy for car that has never been fitted. Car has moderate floor rust but new floor pan is included. Body is mostly solid with minor dents. Has window frames for canopy car, new side windows, new rear torsion mounts. |

Single cylinder engine. Mechanical friction brake on rotating drum.
26 inch steel wheels. Crank shaft drives a sprocket and chain that transfers power to a set of bevel gears. A horizontal shaft from the large bevel gear has a drum that uses a leather belt connecting to another drum on the rear axel. The driver pulls a lever that tensions the belt and allows forward movement. Tiller steering. Dry cell ignition.
Gravity gas feed from tank in the rear to valve on top of engine. Crank Start. Engine has not run for many years, but it turns over and has compression. This vehicle was built by Louis LaDuke in Bessemer Michigan in 1897. It was used in parades and was purchased for a museum collection in 1974, where it stayed until 2005, when I purchased the car. I do have a document written and signed by a Justice of the Peace in Gogebic County, Michigan in 1958, verifying the the car was built by Louis LaDuke from Bessemer, Michigan, and that it was driven on the main street in Bessemer, Michigan, and was also used in Fourth of July Parades, and Firemens Tournament Parades. I did some additional research a few years ago, but didnt find much additional information. |
