An email discussion between Harry and Dave Schober regarding the value of this Brian's prop. The yellow tag is dated 1989. FROM BRIAN - I talked by telephone with Pete Jones at Air Repair last month, and he said this prop has become somewhat hard-to-find, and therefore quite valuable... in the neighborhood of $28,000 to $29,000 retail. TO DAVE FROM HARRY - I have a client that has a Hamilton-Standard prop, a 2B20-9 constant speed prop for a Jacobs engine. It has a yellow tag dated 1988. He thinks that it is worth $29,000. What are your thoughts? FROM DAVE - With that old an overhaul, maybe $8000 to $10000 at best. If it was a recent overhaul, maybe $18000-$20000. Brand new, maybe $29000. Is the yellow tag a repair or an overhaul? Were the blades new at overhaul? lot of variables. Like anything, willing seller and willing buyer. If it was overhauled it should indicate that, or it will just say repaired. Likely the owner doesn’t have the work order either. FROM HARRY - The front of the yellow tag says overhauled, however the rear of the yellow tag says repaired. FROM DAVE

This has 215 hp Titan engine with just over 130 hours since new. I tested three blade prop yesterday and will go up with new 2 blade tomorrow. 185 knots indicated @6500 feet without wheel pants. Klaus claims I should see another 18-20 knots! TT 1057, 215hp ACE Lycoming engine 130 since new, Cato two blade prop “Zero” since new, Condition Inspection completed 2-2022. Originally built in 1988 this aircraft was used to test several Titan engines in 2014-2015. From the original 160hp 320 to the Titan 340, 409, and now the 215hp IO-379. On the dyno, this engine produced 215hp @2750 rpm. Without wheel pants, the aircraft can easily maintain 185 kts ias at 6500 feet. Airflow fuel injection, dual electric fuel pump, dual lightspeed ignition.
I have new carbon wheel pants on order to install along with the new Bruce Custom travel cover. I purchased the aircraft back from the last owner who only flew it 130 hours over last 7 years and have now completed thorough inspection including replacing the instrument panel and re-wired. Installed new Garmin G5, Sandia 165 transponder, Vega EMS head, and new RDAC engine monitoring system. MGL com/intercom is presently out for service. No ADSB solution as of yet but ECO will easily work with Sandia transponder. I left plenty of room on the new panel for Ipad or other EFIS but everything you need for VFR flight is there now.
Aero-led strobes and nav lights, electric nose gear system, landing light, V6 MGL intercom, 42 gallons fuel.
The aircraft was repainted in 2016 but there are a few blister repairs, damage on skin of nose from landing with nose gear up, and damage to RH bottom of wingtip when it struck the ground during a sporty crosswind landing. All minor in nature. |

Has new track, new rear track ski, new drive shaft bearings, new front ski, new voltage regulator, new coil, new sealed beam head light. engine has been rebuilt with new rings,bearings,seals,reeds, and carburetor rebuilt. The clutch housing has also been replaced with a new 15 tooth housing and also has a new clutch to driveshaft chain. The seat has a tear on the lower right side as seen in the pics, the track cover is cracked in several areas but still does it’s job, the clutch cover also is cracked as seen in the pics. Tank has been cleaned out and in tank fuel line,filter, and gas cap are also new! I bought 3 Sno Runners as a package this particular one was bought by the previous owner as a parts machine and he told me it never has ran since he bought it. It was complete and when I took the engine apart it was very clean on the inside and appeared to not have been running very long at all the issue was a broken ring. So that’s why I just rebuilt it.

Up for grabs is a super rare Comet motorcycle motor nice cases, cylinder ,flywheels ,piston w rings, cylinder , cam , pocket valve what you see is what you get , pictures are description ! The Comet motorcycle company started in Milwaukee Wisconsin by 2 guys who left Harley Davidson in 1906 and went to John Evenrudes foundry down the street from the Harley Davidson factory and had him cast the cases and cylinders for their Comet motorcycle. This motor is very similar to the 07 Harley motors ! They changed the cam chest a little the cylinder is almost a dead copy of the Harley cylinder , there are only a couple of these motors in existence ! And maybee 2 comet motorcycles that survived ! This is a very important part of early American motorcycle history . I have too many projects and am going to pass this along to someone that has the time to build the bike ! It’s super rare and priced accordingly ! All these parts are rare and will need some kind of restoration or repairs sold as is ! |

On December 1, Bonhams UK held their 'Important Collectors' Motor Cars and Automobilia' auction at Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey, UK. While motorcycle offerings were thin on the ground at this auction, the one bike they did have on offer was special, and had a special story to go with it.
Motorcycle fans will already know that the famous jump from the classic movie, 'The Great Escape' was performed on a Triumph, not a German motorcycle, and that the rider was not Steve McQueen, but professional stuntman, Bud Ekins. Irrespective of that, the bike, the jump and the movie are icons that have been reproduced countless times since The Great Escape debuted in 1963.
In 2009, Peter Spowage conceived the idea of a motorcycle ride through Europe to commemorate the 50 RAF personnel executed after the actual events that inspired the movie, while also raising money for the UK-based 'Help for Heroes' charity, which supports former armed services personnel. As the ride would be going through parts of Germany made famous by the real events of The Great Escape, as well as locations used in filming of the movie, doing the ride on a bike in the style of McQueen's famous mount seemed a natural. Triumph, UK and Kent-based company Laguna Motorcycles got on board with Stowage's idea, building a special 'Great Escape Replica' around a 2011 model Triumph Bonneville T100.
The bike was modified to incorporate Hagon shock absorbers, wider handlebars, concealed indicators, modified mudguards, military drab paintwork, solo seat and Triumph performance exhaust pipes to give it the right look and sound. Wearing an appropriate 'WWII POW' licence plate, the Great Escape Replica was accompanied by six other Triumphs from the factory's current range for the ride, which was dubbed 'Great Escape 2'.
In June, 2011, the group departed on the 3,200-mile ride, which took in twelve European countries and visited significant sites, like the town of Fussen in Bavaria where McQueen's famous 'wire jump' was actually filmed. 'WWII POW' was taken to other easily recognisable settings and photographed in poses similar to those of Steve on the bike during the making of the film. It was photographed in many other historical locations, and featured on UK TV and in national newspapers and magazines.

On December 1, Bonhams UK held their 'Important Collectors' Motor Cars and Automobilia' auction at Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey, UK. While motorcycle offerings were thin on the ground at this auction, the one bike they did have on offer was special, and had a special story to go with it.
Motorcycle fans will already know that the famous jump from the classic movie, 'The Great Escape' was performed on a Triumph, not a German motorcycle, and that the rider was not Steve McQueen, but professional stuntman, Bud Ekins. Irrespective of that, the bike, the jump and the movie are icons that have been reproduced countless times since The Great Escape debuted in 1963.
In 2009, Peter Spowage conceived the idea of a motorcycle ride through Europe to commemorate the 50 RAF personnel executed after the actual events that inspired the movie, while also raising money for the UK-based 'Help for Heroes' charity, which supports former armed services personnel. As the ride would be going through parts of Germany made famous by the real events of The Great Escape, as well as locations used in filming of the movie, doing the ride on a bike in the style of McQueen's famous mount seemed a natural. Triumph, UK and Kent-based company Laguna Motorcycles got on board with Stowage's idea, building a special 'Great Escape Replica' around a 2011 model Triumph Bonneville T100.
The bike was modified to incorporate Hagon shock absorbers, wider handlebars, concealed indicators, modified mudguards, military drab paintwork, solo seat and Triumph performance exhaust pipes to give it the right look and sound. Wearing an appropriate 'WWII POW' licence plate, the Great Escape Replica was accompanied by six other Triumphs from the factory's current range for the ride, which was dubbed 'Great Escape 2'.
In June, 2011, the group departed on the 3,200-mile ride, which took in twelve European countries and visited significant sites, like the town of Fussen in Bavaria where McQueen's famous 'wire jump' was actually filmed. 'WWII POW' was taken to other easily recognisable settings and photographed in poses similar to those of Steve on the bike during the making of the film. It was photographed in many other historical locations, and featured on UK TV and in national newspapers and magazines.
Upon its sale at Bonhams in December, the one-off Triumph made £11,500 (AU$17,620 approx.), with all proceeds going to UK Armed Services charities. |

Unfortunately this is a non functioning piece to be used as parts, for overhaul, or static display. You can move and set the hands, but it does not run.
The photo with the group of clocks is just for comparison, the clock for sale is not in that photo but was added for reference.
