An ebay buy it now price seen online May 31 2017. 1961 Other Makes Furgone LI 175, series 2. Innocenti Lambretta Furgone 1961 Fli 175 series 2. 15,000 miles. This cute and wonderful Lambretta Furgone micro car, with frame nr 513156, was constructed in the last week of May 1961. It has been in use as delivery van for flowers along the Italian Rivièra. Unfortunately, its owner passed away in 1972 and the Lambretta has been stored in a greenhouse until we purchased it in 1999. Given the few years that this Lambretta has been used it was in excellent condition. It has the original Italian license window stickers from 1972.
We have overhauled the Furgone to clean it and replace seals, ball-bearings and worn rubber parts where needed. We used a highly conservative approach and managed to preserve and re-use the vast majority of the original components. In the few places where required, we preferred original parts over new parts made in Asia.
We maintained the original paintwork with some minor wear and the characteristic red bar, preferring it over a shiny new paint job.
The result is a Lambretta Furgone in near-perfect original condition, probably one of the few in such condition of the total production of 71,681 between July 1960 and August 1965. After completing the restoration, the Lambretta was type approved in 2006 for use in Netherlands, including Dutch license plate. In the past years it has been used for various commercial purposes, including marketing for a pizzeria and for a pin-up photoshoot.
A key advantage of this restoration has been the fact that we managed to obtain another Furgone LI 175 with frame number 515452, produced late July 1961, as well as many parts of a third Furgone resulting in an ample supply of original parts. The second Furgone was in lesser condition, so we decided to sand blast all frame parts and protect it from rust with metal spray coating rather than using galvanization which deforms the thin parts of the structure. This second Forgone has been partially restored and is included in the price.
In the past years, our interests have shifted toward other restoration activities, so we did not find the time to complete restoration of the second Lambretta. By combining the two Lambrettas in one deal we offer the new owner(s) the pleasure of completing the restoration of the second Lambretta, using the first where needed to make sure work is done properly.
The price includes the restored Lambretta, including all parts of the second Lambretta as well as many other spare parts (including doors, gasoline tank, steering, etc). |

The truck starts right up and idles smoothly. There is no smoke or leaks.
It has good power and drives well. The steering is straight and does not pull. The suspension is tight and responsive. The 4WD works well. The brakes stop firm and sure with no pulling or pulsating. It has a good set of tires on factory steel wheels.
The body is straight. It does have a few minor dents, dings and scratches, but the paint shines well. There are a few spots of rust but overall the truck is very solid. The doors open and close properly. The tail gate and bed sides open and close well. The bed has scratches and minor surface rust where the paint has rubbed off from use. All of the glass is in good shape.
The interior is in good condition for a truck of this age. The drivers seat has a couple of split seams and a rip but the rest of the interior is in great shape. The floor mats, door panels, dash and headliner are all in good condition. There is some fading of the door panels and there is some paint that has rubbed of the inside of the drivers door from use. All of the lights, turn signals, wipers, heater, defroster, radio, etc. are working properly.
Other then the few cosmetic issues, this is a great truck.
It has a 350kg (780 pound) payload and with the fold down tailgate and bedsides, the flatbed is very useful. |

Built in Carmel, Ca in the late 1980s by Herb Adams. This is a rabbit based drive train on a tubular steel frame with a fiberglass body. Wheel base is only 83 inches. 1500 lb. weight. All Rabbit Mk 1 parts fit this car. My plan is for 1.8 GTI motor and 5 speed trans. Google VSE Jackrabbit for the history. This appears to be one of the first ones made. No wipers, no heater, doors are fixed in place and no seat padding. Only 25 total produced. Smogs as 1980 VW Rabbit. 1.6 liter CIS fuel injection with 4 speed manual trans. Great candidate for an electric conversion or Burning man custom creation. Quote from previous owner - JackRabbit kit car built by Herb Adams Carmel California shop. Herb Adams a well known General Motors engineer of Pontiac Trans Am and GTO creation fame; Pontiac Trans Am Racing, V.S.E Cobra, and Contessa fame built this car, one of less than 25 actual kits ever made before the Cobra kit car craze took off and VSE produced its own famous Cobra kit. One of less than half dozen ever built by Herb Adams shop itself. Based on a rabbit/golf drive train, shortened wheel base with a tube chassis, this street legal 1500 lbs go cart is a turn key Gymkhana screamer. 1 plus G skid pad with street tires. Herb Adams himself said the car is able to beat a Cobra in a down hill race. Own a classic collectable built by a master automotist with vision and ability to produce it. Asking price seen on Craigslist May 15 2017. 1990 Herb Adams V.S.E. JackRabbit Speedster. VSE Jackrabbit project kit car fiberglass 1980 VW Rabbit Mk1. Built in Carmel, Ca in the late 1980s by Herb Adams. This is a rabbit based drive train on a tubular steel frame with a fiberglass body. Wheel base is only 83 inches. 1500 lb. weight. All Rabbit Mk 1 parts fit this car. My plan is for 1.8 GTI motor and 5 speed trans. Google VSE Jackrabbit for the history. This appears to be one of the first ones made. No wipers, no heater, doors are fixed in place and no seat padding. Only 25 total produced. Smogs as 1980 VW Rabbit. 1.6 liter CIS fuel injection with 4 speed manual trans. Great candidate for an electric conversion or Burning man custom creation. Quote from previous owner - JackRabbit kit car built by Herb Adams Carmel California shop. Herb Adams a well known General Motors engineer of Pontiac Trans Am and GTO creation fame; Pontiac Trans Am Racing, V.S.E Cobra, and Contessa fame built this car, one of less than 25 actual kits ever made before the Cobra kit car craze took off and VSE produced its own famous Cobra kit. One of less than half dozen ever built by Herb Adams shop itself. Based on a rabbit/golf drive train, shortened wheel base with a tube chassis, this street legal 1500 lbs go cart is a turn key Gymkhana screamer. 1 plus G skid pad with street tires. Herb Adams himself said the car is able to beat a Cobra in a down hill race. Own a classic collectable built by a master automotist with vision and ability to produce it.
