For sale here I have my mostly original 1951 Ford F1 short bed truck. It has a few add ons like the am radio, 55 ford steering wheel and the fulton sunvisor. It has a flathead v8 in it that appears to be locked up and a 4 speed on the floor. It looks like a previous owner started to take the engine out. The generator is loose and the fan and air cleaner are missing. The PS headlight bezel is also missing. The truck has very minimal rust and appears to be mostly original paint. The floors are a little soft in front, there is rust above the windshield inside, the hood has a spot on the ps and the tailgate is in rough shape. The truck doesnt have the typical front fender, cowl or cab corner rust. They put a sheet of metal in over the wood for a bed floor. The seat cover is in usable shape for a patina truck and the gauges look basically new showing 89xxx i think. The truck will come with a clear Ks title that matches all 3 vin locations on the truck and the price is $3000 firm. |

Cascade, MD (21719). Owned the car since 130,000 miles,2.3L 4 cylinder, EX model, 4 door, 5 speed manual trans, sunroof etc. Does not burn or leak a drip of oil and it is changed every 4,000 miles. It has 221,000 miles and will continue to go up because i drive the car almost 1,000 miles a week. Timing belt, water pump and plugs and wires were done at 180,000. Clutch, flywheel and pressure plate were done at 170,000. The car is 16 years old so it does have its dings and dents but nothing too hateful. In the last 2 weeks i put almost a $1,000 dollars in it, all new complete struts, both new front wheel bearings, both front axles, front motor mount and front rotors. The check engine light is on for bank 1 sensor 1 o2 sensor. To get it to be MD state inspected it would need a new front sway bar ($40 at junkyard), a new flexpipe welded into the exhaust, emergency brake cable ($30). Tires should pass inspection. |

Car runs and shifts great! This car is a fantastic driver. Paint is less than a year old. There are a couple of imperfections in the body but nothing you can see from a few feet away. New trunk pan. Front sub frame, rear rails, pinch welds, rockers, shock towers and floor pans in great shape. Mechanically the car is in excellent condition. New aluminum radiator, hoses and belts. All brake components are new. The brake system will need to be bled before driving any distance. Chrome valve covers and air cleaner. New interior pieces include the headliner, carpet and rear package tray. All other interior pieces are in good driver condition. |

This particular example is a very early superb example of the first variant. In August 1956 it has delivered new to a police inspector from Celle. It still has the original documents from Ernst Heinkel Aktiengesellschaft. Technical it has been fully restored with the matching engine and just passed the German TÜV inspection without any flaws. The body itself has never been restored and is in a fantastic original condition with great patina. It has no rust and was never repaired due to corrosion. The interior and the sunroof is still original, only the seat cover has been renewed with a original NOS sample in the right color combination. The Heinkel Kabinenroller is still located in Germany and available for inspection by appointment. |

I have been collecting, researching and restoring these for 30+ years and this is one of the best ones I have found. It is not only amazingly complete but the metal parts are in excellent condition. The story behind this car and these in general is that Briggs & Stratton purchased the manufacturing rights to the motor wheel and buckboard from the A.O. Smith Corp in 1919. Briggs reengineered the motor wheel to increase output and improve reliability. The motor wheels were sold initially as an attachment to bicycles, essentially you could make your bike into a moped. But, they also manufactured and sold the buckboards so you could have the entire car as a package. The buckboard was simply six wood slats that doubled as body and suspension, with two bent wood seats and simple controls to handle the attached motor wheel. It was advertised as being capable of 25 mph when new but given that the brakes consist of a pedal and rods pushing the fender against the tire and that the steering is scary fast, I would not advice traveling at anywhere near the advertised top speed. This particular Flyer was rescued from a barn in New England by me. The serial number for the buckboard is still intact (a rarity) and the number is 2069. From my many years of research I was fortunate enough to secure a copy of the original shipping records from Briggs & Stratton for the Motor Wheels and all related products. According to those records, which are full of gaps, this buckboard corresponds to those shipped in June 1923. This particular number is not listed in my records so I cannot verify where it was shipped but it does fall numerically into those shipped during that month. It is likely someone made new wood slats and definitely seats for this car sometime in the past. The slats are reasonably well done and the seats are okay but need some additional work. The metal parts are in great condition. The wheels are originals now fitted with solid rubber tires, the fenders are mostly straight and everything is largely rust free. I installed a reproduction throttle control. The only thing missing from the buckboard is the compression release control and the cables to connect everything. If I ever reproduce the compression control, I will provide one to the buyer. When I found this Flyer the motor was missing. I located a decent replacement, serial number D4638. This motor was shipped April 30, 1920 to Edwards & Crist Co. in New York City on a Flyer. The number of the original Flyer is not recorded. The two differences between a regular motor wheel and one that was mounted on a Flyer are Flyer wheels had a crank handle mounted to the drive wheel and they had a belt driven cooling fan. This motor has the original drive wheel with the hole for the crank handle but the handle is missing. The fan is missing. When I located this motor it was missing the fender, gas tank and some small parts, all of which I was able to get. The gas tank is a reproduction. The gas cap is a type I make that looks like the original caps but is made in stainless steel. The exhaust pipe and a few other items are still missing but most could be made by any capable shop. The motor does not run. When I bench tested it, I didnt get a spark so the magneto is in need of a rebuild. I did remove the cylinder head to make certain the internal parts are intact and everything appears okay. To find one that is historically correct is rare and to find one in this good condition is even rarer. Im willing to provide technical support if the buyer wishes to restore it. |
